BRICK CITY BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL OCALA FLORIDA

Bluegrass music gets in your soul and it doesn’t judge based on gender, race, or age. It does not care if you’re having a bad day . Bluegrass music was made to get feet stompin’. It allows you to inhibit the songs. This year’s highly anticipated Brick City Bluegrass Festival in Ocala, Florida delivered just that!

Located in downtown Ocala, Florida, the inaugural Brick City Bluegrass Festival featured nationally acclaimed as well as local bluegrass bands. The event was organized by The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department.

The Brick City Bluegrass Festival one-day event took place Saturday, January 20, 2024, and with the Florida sun shining bright and temperatures dipping into the high thirties, Central Florida braced for its first super cold weekend of the year. The bluegrass festival was general seating and you would need to bring your lawn chair.

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE BRICKCITY FESTIVAL OCALA FLORIDA

Tickets for the event were $20 if purchased prior and $25 the day of the event and parking was a breeze. Downtown Ocala has a parking garage conveniently located across from the park. We got there super early to snag our spots and check out the city’s farmers market which was right next door. It’s how we roll.

The Brick City Bluegrass Festival did not allow any outside food or coolers. They did offer great food vendors and food trucks. We tried them all! They were that good. If you enjoy beer and wine, a special area was set up for those. Not too shabby!

• Low Ground
• The Flatlanders

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS WE LOVED ABOUT THE BRICK CITY BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL:

• Parking was close and convenient.
• The food vendors & food trucks were actually pretty tasty and had a great selection.
• Heaters were available for those to get close to if needed. (It was super cold for this Florida native!)
• Great mix of local Floridian bluegrass bands & more well known groups.
• The event flowed well and offered plenty of places to park your lawn chair & eat kettle corn!

The Brick City Bluegrass Festival was a great day of live music, too much kettle corn, and fellowship. We bundled up in blankets and sat back listening to banjos and fiddles wafting through the air as we sat under the stars. Happy Wandering Friends!
